Our Softball Program is broken up into three seasons.
Spring Season
Our recreational season is our most popular season and runs from March through the middle of May. We offer as many divisions as demand allows. Historically, we offer AA (Coach Pitch/Player Pitch), AAA (Player Pitch), and Majors. Last Year, we had a Juniors Team for the first time. These teams played other Little League teams in the Bay Area Softball Little League, created by the VP of Softball for Fremont Centerville. At the end of the season, several teams in each division squared off and played in the first ever Bay Area Softball Little League Invitational hosted by Fremont Centerville at Patterson Elementary.
Summer Season
Summer 2025 will be our second Summer Season, which is a competitive program. We form teams using girls from our Spring recreational teams (AA, AAA, Majors, and Juniors Divisions potentially) who have the ability and desire to play at a higher competitive level. These teams travel a bit further and play in weekend tournaments. Travel might include tournaments within the Bay Area and beyond depending on what is available. Typically, tournaments are scheduled from late July to late August. As you might expect, these tournaments have higher entry fees than our recreational season.
Our most competitive team is called the "Lady Yankees." If there is enough interest from the same or different division from girls who weren't selected for our Lady’s Yankees team, will be eligible for a team called "Lady Patriots" (Majors) or “Lady Nationals”(AAA) depending on their age and experience. Each of these teams’ creations is predicated on coaches and parents who volunteer to make it all happen.
The objective is for the girls who competed in the nationwide Little League softball tournament to continue to develop. This past year, the Majors All-Star Lady Patriots team won sectionals and made it to the State Tournament in Chico, California. They came up short but gained the experience, passion, and determination to both continue on the competitive team or return next year depending on their circumstances.
Fall Season
Our Fall season is a mix of the two seasons defined above.
We offer an inexpensive recreational season in which travel is limited to the Bay Area. This is a fantastic opportunity for any girl to try softball, learn the game, have fun and get more experience. It's also an opportunity to play in the divisions they will play in the coming spring. If they move up a division, they will get used to a bigger ball and a more extensive field in a low-stress environment. In contrast, our competitive teams will continue to play in tournaments well into the Fall. It's advised that all girls play in the division they are moving to in the spring, regardless of competition level.
